Donna Mae Nannenga, 91, Jamestown, ND passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 at SMP Health – St. Raphael, Valley City, ND.

Donna Mae Coombs was born August 29, 1932 in Pickardville, ND to Millard and Josie (Hansen) Coombs. She attended public schools in Fargo, ND graduating in 1950. Donna also attended NDSU before transferring to Seattle Pacific College graduating in 1954 with a BA in music education.

Donna taught elementary school out in Washington for three years and in Fargo upon returning to North Dakota. She also taught in Jamestown for over three decades.

On June 22, 1963, she married Miles Dirk Nannenga in Fargo. She was involved in many activities and groups. Sons of Norway, program committee at Arts Center, Christian Women’s Club and Stonecroft Bible Studies, and on the board of the International Music Camp at the Peace Gardens, just to name a few. Donna loved to travel.

She is survived by her children Nathan (Michelle) Nannenga, Jamestown, ND, Amy Nannenga, Jamestown, ND: grandchildren Johnathan Nannenga, Mandan, ND and Jennifer (Matt) Irvine, Detroit Lakes, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister in law and their two children, and her husband and all of his immediate family.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Jennifer McDonald officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will be in Highland Home Cemetery.

Eddy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley or a charity of their choice.
