CARRINGTON, N.D. (KVRR) – Cows and Company Creamery out of Carrington has been making cheese and gelato since the family immigrated from the Netherlands in 2008 where they milked 50 cows.

They are now working with 15 hundred dairy cows and most of their milk is sent to Cass Clay creamery.

With the milk that is left over they make artisan gelato and gouda cheese to bring a taste of Europe to North Dakota.

With the money from the grant, they plan to expand by buying bigger equipment.

“First off our equipment is too small so we need to get bigger equipment for gelato making especially. Our cheese equipment is large enough we just need to make more cheese everyday so larger equipment for gelato making and then also more storage space.” Said Co-Owner of Cows and Company Maartje Murphy

You can purchase their homemade gelato at their stand inside Brewhalla in Fargo.
