CPKC Holiday Train returns to North Dakota
MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A favorite holiday tradition will be returning to North Dakota. The CPKC Holiday Train will be making several stops in the Peace Garden State.
In Minot, the train will stop at 10 Main Street North on Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
The train features holiday lights and music and collects money and food for local food banks and pantries at more than 160 stops.
At its Magic City stop, the Minot Area Homeless Coalition will be the recipient of donations.
A spokesman for the railway said that throughout the course of the Holiday Train’s existence, they have raised more than $24 million and collected more than five million pounds of non-perishable food.
“It’s great to be working for an organization that is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and operate in,” said Terry Cuhna, spokesman for CPKC.
It is free to attend, but you’re encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation.
This year’s entertainment will be Alana Springsteen and the duo Seaforth.
The train will also make stops in Hankinson, Enderlin, Carrington, Harvey and Kenmare.
