Charlotte Ann Moen, 91 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Friday, September 22, 2023, at Valley Senior Living on 42nd surrounded by her loving family.

Charlotte was born on June 1, 1932, the daughter of Oscar and Edna (Rio) Olson in rural Michigan, North Dakota on the family farm. She attended country school near Michigan and graduated from Michigan High School in 1950. Charlotte attended Mayville College, graduating in 1952. She taught in Niagara for two years until returning to Mayville College to receive a bachelor’s degree in education. She then taught at Buffalo and Jamestown, North Dakota and also at Hallock, Minnesota.

Charlotte was united in marriage to Noel Moen on September 22, 1962, at Sarnia United Lutheran Church, Whitman, North Dakota. They made their home on the farm, where they raised their six children. They continued to farm until 1997 when they moved to Lakota and Charlotte worked at Good Samaritan Home for a number of years. They moved to Grand Forks in 2017.

Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She attended the activities of her children and her grandchildren throughout the years. Charlotte enjoyed canning, gardening, reading, playing piano, cooking and baking. She was known for her white and brown buns and her many delicious baked pies. Charlotte also enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas and going for walks with her dog, April.

Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Noel Moen; six children, Carlene (Todd) Gustafson, Juel (Carol) Moen, Erick Moen, Randy Moen, Anders Moen and Chad (Amanda) Moen; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; brother, Ervin Olson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Ervin Jerome Olson, daughter-in-law, Carrie Moen, sister, Sharon Larson, sister-in-law, Mylah Olson and brother-in-law, Gaylord Larson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Amundson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Interment will be held on 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, at East Sarnia Lutheran Cemetery, Whitman, ND.
