FARGO — Employees of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota were alerted Monday night that there was an active shooting situation at their office headquarters, 4510 13th Ave. S. in Fargo.

An automated message was called and texted to BCBS employees at 8:24 p.m. on July 17, according to screenshots obtained by The Forum.

“We were testing our security system and an alert went out to employees in error,” corporate communications manager Melissa Richard told The Forum via email.

The company sent out another alert about 15 minutes later, informing employees of the error.
