1 man dead in western ND head-on crash
MORTON COUNTY, N.D. — One man was killed in an early morning crash near state Highway 49 in Morton County, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Tyler Feist, 43, of Mandan, N.D., was driving a Chevy Impala north along Highway 49 when he attempted to pass a northbound semi-trailer in a no passing zone just before 6 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5.
While trying to pass the semi, Feist ran head-on into a Nissan Rogue that was driving south, according to the release.
Feist’s passenger, Christopher Noel, 42, of Mandan, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident and was killed in the crash.
Feist, also unbuckled when the crash happened, was taken by ambulance to a Bismarck hospital.
The driver of the Nissan Rogue, Patricia Olaughin, 41, of Beulah, N.D., was injured in the crash. She was airlifted to a Bismarck hospital.
The crash remains under investigation, the release said.
