LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was killed Tuesday in a crash in northeast Nebraska.
The crash happened about noon at the intersection of Highways 32 and 121, which is about 20 miles southwest of Norfolk, authorities said.
An SUV that was going south on Highway 121 failed to stop and was hit by a westbound minivan, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The SUV went into the ditch and rolled, deputies said.
The driver, 66-year-old Peggy Ondracek of Greeley, was ejected.
First responders attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but Ondracek later died at a Norfolk hospital.
A 4-year-old boy in the SUV was flown to an Omaha hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The driver of the minivan was also hospitalized.
Ondracek was not wearing a seat belt, the sheriff’s office said.
The 4-year-old was secured in a child safety seat, and the minivan driver wore her seat belt, according to the sheriff’s office.
