Shedeur Sanders tipped his cap to Nebraska following Saturday’s 28-10 defeat.

On Wednesday, the Colorado quarterback discussed the Cornhuskers dancing to his song, Perfect Timing, in their locker room after defeating the Buffaloes (four-minute mark) and said, “I feel like they’re doing what they’re supposed to do. … Let them talk, they’re supposed to. They’re winning, they’re supposed to be able to do that. There’s no reason to even get mad over that type of stuff.”

Sanders clearly understands the concept of “to the victors go the spoils” when it comes to trash talking, and it’s easy to respect his answer on the topic.

Nebraska had plenty to dance about after Saturday’s win.

The game wasn’t as close as the 28-10 final score indicated, as the Big Ten team jumped out to a 28-0 lead before halftime and largely coasted to the victory. Sanders dealt with pressure throughout the game and finished 23-of-38 passing for 244 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

He was also sacked five times and didn’t have much of an opportunity to lead a comeback.

It was another troubling loss for a Colorado program that has sputtered under head coach Deion Sanders. It went 4-8 in his first season in 2023 and could be well on the way to another disappointing finish with a number of challenging Big 12 games remaining.

Opponents will surely talk plenty of trash as the season unfolds, especially given the spotlight on the Buffaloes’ program, and Sanders indicated he will respect it with his Wednesday comments.
