Pelican shot multiple times found tangled in fishing line in eastern Nebraska lake

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A pelican is recovering after volunteers with Nebraska Wildlife Rehab, Inc. say they discovered him tangled in a fishing line and shot dozens of instances with a pellet gun at a lake in Valley.

In keeping with a Fb submit, Scott, a volunteer, and Ayet, a NWR workers member, noticed the injured pelican and jumped into motion.

Scott and Ayet introduced the pelican to the clinic to get an x-ray and found that though the fowl had no damaged bones, he had been shot dozens of instances.

NWR stated what occurred to the pelican teaches so many classes in regards to the risks of improperly discarded fishing line and the pointless and merciless actions of capturing any animal with a pellet gun.
