Nebraska's Secretary of State reminds voters to get new ID before primary
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska’s Secretary of State is sending out letters to Nebraskans who need to get a new, state-issued ID before the upcoming primary election.
Bob Evnen said about 35,000 Nebraskans will receive the letter. He said that’s about 3% of all registered voters in the state.
Evnen said the his office wants to make sure everyone is ready for upcoming elections.
“We’re trying to reach voters who may not be aware of the new voter ID law and may not be prepared,” he said.
Nebraska’s new law states that voters must present photo ID before voting.
This law will first be implemented during the statewide primary on May 14.
You can get a state-issued ID at any Nebraska DMV location.
Voters should also ensure their early voting applications are up to date.

Kozal has night to remember in SDSU's huge comeback win at Nebraska Wednesday night
LINCOLN, NE (Dakota News Now) -I showed you the score last night. Here’s how it happened. The Jackrabbits trailed Nebraska 6-2 in the 8th inning in Lincoln when small-town Nebraska kid Thatcher Kozal belted this 3-run HR to give SDSU hope.
He did the same thing again in the 9th inning as they scored 5 more and rallied to win 10-6. And for Thatcher it as one of those moments who dream about with family and friends there.
Thatcher Kozal says, “Yeah you know it’s good to be in front of friends and family and we had a good outcome last year. This year we struggled through some adversity but we just played our butts off from start to finish and here we are. It felt awesome. I was pumped up and hoping all the boys were ready to roll and it was great.”
The Jacks were trailing 6-2 when they up to bat in the 8th inning and rallied to win 10-6.

3M Expands Nebraska Facility – Hardware Retailing
3M announced a 90,000-square-foot expansion to its facility in Valley, Nebraska. The expansion will increase the plant’s manufacturing capacity and add roughly 40 new jobs.
The $67 million investment includes new production lines, equipment and warehouse, and will help 3M more quickly meet customer demand for the company’s personal safety products.
“3M has been a part of Valley and the greater Omaha business community for 45 years,” says Matt Huset, 3M’s Valley plant director. “We’re proud of the role we play in Nebraska’s success and pleased that we could work with state officials to make this expansion happen.”
The expansion will create additional manufacturing capacity for 3M’s reusable respirator and hearing protection products.
“From respiratory and hearing protection to welding safety and medical products, 3M Valley is integral to manufacturing the solutions that help protect people worldwide,” says Chris Goralski, president of 3M Safety and Industrial. “These products help make a difference during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, for workers on the job across the industries we serve and in daily life. The investments we’re making in Valley will help give us the capacity we need to meet the growing demand for these solutions today and into the future.”
To aid in this expansion, 3M has partnered with the state of Nebraska through its ImagiNE Nebraska Program, a tax incentive-based program intended to encourage companies to invest in Nebraska by creating jobs and growing the state and its economy.
3M has operated its facility in Valley since 1979 and the company is celebrating 45 years in the community this year.
