Nebraska man charged with 5th DUI after driving recklessly with 3 kids, police say
MADISON COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) – Madison Police arrested a man Friday after he was allegedly caught driving while intoxicated with three children in the backseat.
Brian Daughton, 30, was taken into custody following a traffic stop at a gas station in Madison County. Police say an officer witnessed him driving recklessly and speeding 15 miles over the limit on East Second Street.
According to court documents, Daughton showed several signs of intoxication during the stop. After performing standard field sobriety tests, he submitted to a breath test that showed a blood alcohol content 0.226.
During the investigation, the officer discovered three young children in the vehicle. Police also learned Daughton has four prior DUI convictions, all within the past 15 years.
Daughton is charged with DUI with a BAC of 0.15 or higher and three prior convictions. His bond is set at 10% of $100,000. His next court hearing is scheduled for May 13.
