Nebraska Governor-elect Jim Pillen retains Director of Natural Resources

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – Governor-Elect Jim Pillen has retained one other cupboard place with plans to maneuver ahead on a canal venture.

In accordance with the Workplace of the Governor-Elect, Pillen has determined to retain the state’s Director of the Nebraska Division of Pure Assets, Tom Riley.

Riley has been the Director of Pure Assets since 2020. Beforehand he spent 20 years on the Flatwater Group and was an organization founder.

Pillen says he plans to make the Perkins Canal venture a precedence when he’s in workplace, and Riley can be a frontrunner on the plan.

“Tom has proven visionary management in combating to protect and shield our state’s most treasured useful resource, our water,” stated Governor-elect Pillen. “He has labored for years with Nebraska stakeholders on the Perkins water venture. His management is significant in bringing this water house to Nebraska. Tom will proceed to pursue insurance policies that profit our farmers and ranchers.”

Pillen’s workplace says whereas on the Flatwater Group, Riley labored on water tasks throughout the state involving irrigation, water provide and restoration.

In accordance with the Division of Pure Assets, the Perkins County Canal Challenge is a plan “to guard Nebraska’s full entitlement to the flows of the South Platte River.”
