Nebraska Athletics Club hosts Positive Impact Workout with Hope Esperanza and Community Connections
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – The Nebraska Athletic Club hosted a Positive Impact Workout for parents and children on Saturday.
Tommy Vierya, owner of the Nebraska Athletic Club, paired up with Community Connections and Hope Enzperanza to have a free workout class once a month for adults and children involved with the organizations. The class was about focusing on balance, strength and coordination to give children a basic foundation on working out and getting away from screens.
“You know kids and how society has gone and everyone has gone to automation, their videos, their TikTok, their games, and stuff like that. If you think back when we were you and our parents were young, we were always outside so we wanted to give them the opportunity to do something on a physical basis,” Vierya said.
These workouts used to be only in the summertime but by popular demand, they now go all year round. Vierya said that these workouts would not be possible thanks to two local organizations.
“Hope Esperanza and Community Connections of course there is Teammates but that is a little different program,” Vierya said. “The thing is you have adults sacrificing their time to give kids a chance that is what this is all about and for us to have the assets, the facility, the knowledge, the experience to be able to work together with them, the whole bottom line is to help the community out and help the children out.”
The next Positive Impact workout class at the Nebraska Athletic Club is scheduled for mid-March..
