Caitlin Clark and the Iowa women’s basketball team endured a swarm of attention following their upset 100-92 overtime loss at Ohio State on Sunday.
A six-day gap in the schedule didn’t help dispel discussion of Clark’s post-game collision or the disappointment of the Hawkeyes (18-2, 7-1 Big Ten) snapping their 15-game winning streak.
Yet a return to Carver-Hawkeye Arena against Nebraska (13-6, 5-3 Big Ten) at 1 p.m. Saturday offers Iowa a prime opportunity to get the ball rolling again.
Clark also has a chance to continue making history. She is just 43 points from surpassing Jackie Stiles for third on the NCAA women’s basketball’s all-time scoring list, a single-game mark she’s more than capable of achieving.
Iowa also needs a bounce-back win to remain at the top of the Big Ten Conference standings. Indiana and Ohio State share the Hawkeyes’ 7-1 conference record.
