Interim Nebraska U.S. Attorney Jan Sharp announces retirement

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – Nebraska U.S. Lawyer Jan Sharp plans to retire after serving for 40 years as a prosecutor.

United States Lawyer Jan W. Sharp introduced Friday he plans to retire on the finish of Might.

Sharp graduated from the College of Nebraska School of Legislation in 1982 and started his profession serving as a Deputy Lancaster County Lawyer in Lincoln. He then spent six years on a wide range of circumstances, starting from murder to white-collar crime. He joined the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace in Omaha in 1988. In 2001 he was named Felony Chief for america Lawyer’s Workplace. In 2018 he was appointed as First Assistant United States Lawyer underneath United States Lawyer Joe Kelly.

After Kelly resigned in 2021, Sharp was then appointed because the Appearing U.S. Lawyer, and later appointed by america District Courtroom because the Interim U.S. Lawyer.

The US District Courtroom will appoint Sharp’s successor to take over as Interim United States Lawyer. The brand new Interim is appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate.
