Icy roads lead to crashes in Central Nebraska
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – A serious accident compelled closure of Interstate 80 Thursday morning.
The Nebraska Division of Transportation reported that the east-bound lanes of I-80 between Giltner and Aurora have been closed due to what they referred to as a serious accident. An DOT site visitors cam on the Aurora exit was partially coated with ice.
The Nationwide Climate Service reported a roll-over accident on Freeway Six east of Hastings.
Local4 reporters in Hastings reported that Burlington Avenue had been handled to stave off the ice, however that aspect streets and parking heaps had a glaze of ice on them making them harmful.
Native authorities urged drivers to drive cautiously and permit further area between automobile and for stopping distance.
