LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Behind Gabe Swansen’s six RBI, No. 24 Nebraska defeats No. 16 Vanderbilt 6-4 at the MLB Desert Invitational. The team was playing with heavy hearts as longtime play-by-play broadcaster, Greg Sharpe, passed away on Friday.

Gabe Swansen went 3-4 at the plate with two doubles, one home run, and six RBI. Swansen was electric at the end of the 2024 season and continues the hot hitting into his senior year. On mound, Ty Horn got the start pitching for four innings while allowing three runs. Jalen Worthley got the win in relief while Luke Broderick picked up the save.

Nebraska plays next on Sunday at 6:00 P.M. versus San Diego State.
