Gov. Pillen appoints Jim Scheer to University of Nebraska Board of Regents

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – Gov. Jim Pillen has introduced his appointment for the District 3 Regent on the College of Nebraska Board of Regents.

Pillen says he’s appointing Jim Scheer, the previous Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature, to function the District 3 Regent.

“Jim is a public servant who will work to develop the College of Nebraska,” mentioned Pillen. “He believes in instructional excellence, the significance of agriculture, and monetary conservative management.”

Scheer represented District 19 within the Nebraska Legislature from 2013 to 2021 and was elected Speaker of the Legislature in 2017. Earlier than that, Scheer was on the Norfolk Faculty Board when he was the mayor of Norfolk.
