Gering woman killed in Sunday crash

SCOTTSBLUFF — A 19-year-old Gering lady died in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 385 between Chadron and Hemingford on Sunday.

Autumn Elsen died of accidents she suffered after being concerned in a crash at about midday.

Nebraska State Patrol troopers responded to the scene and found a number of bystanders trying to help these concerned within the crash. Elsen, the driving force of a Pontiac Grand Prix, had been trapped inside her car. The driving force of one other car, Ross Grant, 47, of Alliance, had been ejected from his car, a GMC Sierra. Each drivers have been transported to Chadron Neighborhood Hospital, the place Elsen later died. Grant was transported by flight to Regional West Medical Heart.

In response to the patrol, Elsen was touring north on U.S. 385, misplaced management of her automobile whereas passing one other car, overcorrected and struck Grant’s car. Grant was touring south on U.S. 385.

Seat belts weren’t in use in both car. The crash investigation is ongoing.
