The Colorado Buffaloes have started the 2023 season with a perfect 2-0 record as Coach Prime has quickly put his stamp on the college football world.
The Buffs easily handled Nebraska in Week 2 with a 36-14 victory over the Cornhuskers.
While it’s easy to look to quarterback Shedeur Sanders as the team’s most valuable player, there were plenty of other important factors that led to Colorado’s win over Nebraska. After not recording any sacks or TFLs in Week 1 against TCU, the Buffs’ front seven showed up ready to play against the Cornhuskers.
As a unit, Colorado totaled two sacks and six tackles for a loss on Saturday but more importantly, the D surrendered just 14 points.
“I felt like we did way better than last week,” said defensive end Taijh Alston, who had 1.5 sacks. “As a defense, we just got to keep stacking days and keep getting better because we still had a few assignments that we missed.”
If the Buffs can continue to build on Saturday’s disruption, Colorado’s defense has a chance to make tremendous strides throughout the season.
