The No. 14 Creighton Bluejays (6-1) head to Pinnacle Bank Arena to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-0) on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET (FS1). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook lines around the Creighton vs. Nebraska odds as we make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Creighton, which is No. 14 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, had a nice bounce-back 79-65 victory over Oklahoma State following their 69-48 loss in the Hall of Fame Classic to Colorado State. They covered the 7.5-point spread against against  Oklahoma State and the Over 143.5 hit. Senior G Baylor Scheierman scored 21 points while senior C Ryan Kalkbrenner had 16 points and 12 rebounds, his 2nd double-double of the season.

Nebraska remained unbeaten after their 85-72 victory over Cal State Fullerton last Sunday. They failed to cover the 17.5-point spread but the Over 141.5 hit. F Rienk Mast, a junior transfer from Bradley, led the way with 19  poits and 9 rebounds. Nebraska ranks 21st in the country in points allowed per game at 61.9.

Creighton has won 8 of their last 10 matchups, but Nebraska has the last laugh winning the 2022 game 63-53. The Cornhuskers covered the 14.5-point spread as the Underdog while the Under 141 hit.

Creighton 74, Nebraska 70

Moneyline

PASS.

I’m confident Creighton (-178) will win this game, but definitely not enough to take them at these odds. I’d be interesting in putting them into a moneyline parlay with another team but not a straight bet.

Against the spread

BET CREIGHTON -3.5 (-102).

Take a good hard look at the opponents that Nebraska has played this season. The combined record of their opponents is 18-30 (2 of the 7 teams have winning records). The team with the best record they’ve faced is Duquesne at 5-2. They have played just one school from a Power 5 conference. My point is the 7-0 record is fraudulent. This is the 1st legit team they’ve played.

Creighton got their wake up call early in the season with that loss to Colorado State. This team is uber talented and could make a deep run in March. The Bluejays have covered the spread in 3 of their last 4 games.

Over/Under

AVOID.

My lean is to the Under because both of these teams do not get out there and run, they like to get into half court sets and move the ball around. But I’ll tell you why I’m not confident enough to make the bet.

The Cornhuskers defense has been impressive but again this is the first real team they’ve faced this season. Both teams score over 80 points per game and both shoot better than 45 percent from the field.

There are reasons to like both sides of this bet, so that’s why I’m going to just stay away and focus my money on Creighton giving the points.
