The community of Arnold is among those that will have tire collection sites available as part of the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment’s (DWEE) waste reduction and recycling incentive grant program.

The collection site applied for by the Village of Arnold, which is available to those in Blaine, Custer, and Logan counties, is approved for 150 tons of tires and open from May 28 to 30. The site location is Old Mill Park in the 300 block of South Broadway.

Organized by applicants who received grant funds across the state, several scrap tire cleanup events have happened or are happening across the state. In total, 35 cleanup events across 35 counties were funded by DWEE. Up to 7,930 tons of scrap tires can be collected as a result.
