Texas A&M baseball vs Missouri game score: Live updates, how to watch game 2 of SEC series
Head coach Michael Earley talks about Aggies’ mindset ahead of Game 1
Texas A&M head coach Michael Earley knows they have a target on their back. He tells reporters it doesn’t matter as the approach stays the same.
COLLEGE STATION — Disaster struck Texas A&M baseball Friday night.
The Aggies (27-21, 10-15 SEC) entered the ninth inning holding a commanding three-run lead over the worst team in the SEC. They were just three outs away from putting Missouri away and capturing game one of the series.
However, the Tigers (14-35, 1-24) didn’t go away quietly.
They mounted a six-run inning to overtake A&M and capture its first conference win of the season.
Every game matters for the Aggies as they still fight for their postseason lives.
The loss pushed A&M down nine spots in the RPI rankings from 27th to 36th.
No team from the SEC has ever made it into postseason play without at least winning 13 conference games and being within the top 30 in RPI.
With two games left in the series, the Aggies are now tasked with finding a way to salvage Friday night’s damage while proving they still belong in the field of 64.
