St. Joe man drowns while fishing in Missouri River

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Sunday, June 9 just after 4 in the morning a St. Joseph man fell into the Missouri River.

The Missouri Highway Patrol and St. Joseph Police responded to the emergency.

The victim, 38-year-old Darrel S. Brown was fishing with a relative off a public dock, due south of the French Bottom ramp, when he fell in and never came up.

Brown was not wearing a lifejacket.

Multiple agencies responded to the search for Brown.

After a lengthy time, Brown’s body was found just after noon the same day.
