Patrol: Missouri man dies after being shot by police officer
A central Missouri man has died after being shot by a police officer throughout a confrontation at a house, police mentioned.
Brian Mummert, 44, of Dawn Seashore, was shot and killed Thursday evening by a Laurie police officer, the Laurie Police Division mentioned in a information launch.
When the division was referred to as to a report of home assault at a Laurie dwelling on Care Free Lane at Park Place Cellular Dwelling Park round 7:30 p.m, the officer approached Mummert on the porch and requested him to adjust to orders after noticing a gun.
“Officers arrived on the scene and seen the assault sufferer standing within the roadway whereas the suspect was standing on the porch of the residence. As officers approached the porch, they noticed what seemed to be a firearm within the suspect’s waistband. As officers tried to get the suspect to adjust to their instructions, the suspect started to attract the weapon and one officer fired their responsibility weapon, hanging the suspect,” a Laurie press launch said.
“Officers started life-saving measures and requested Fireplace/Emergency administration providers to reply to the scene. Fireplace/EMS arrived and took over medical care of the suspect. The suspect was pronounced deceased on scene a short while later,” in response to Laurie’s Police Chief Mike Nienhuis.
The officer was not injured.
The Missouri State Freeway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Management is investigating the taking pictures.
