JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri State Parks has been named a finalist for a 2023 Nationwide Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Administration.
Hosted by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration, the award works in partnership with the Nationwide Recreation and Park Affiliation. If profitable, Missouri Parks would obtain nationwide recognition.
“This recognition may be attributed to an excellent and devoted group {of professional} crew members caring for our 92 state parks and historic websites,” David Kelly, director of Missouri State Parks, mentioned. “We’re very happy with our crew and the work they do every day to offer a top quality expertise for our guests.”
Three different state park programs are within the working for the highest award: Ohio State Parks and Watercraft, Texas State Parks and Wyoming State Parks, Historic Websites and Trails. The winner might be introduced on the Nationwide Recreation and Park Affiliation’s annual convention in October in Dallas, Texas.
