ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – One of many caveats of marijuana legalization in Missouri and Illinois has been the expungement of convictions and arrests.

Many who had been charged and jailed on pot-related prices have filed to get them taken away.

In Illinois, expungements began in June 2019. State police there stated greater than 510,000 folks have had their convictions and arrests tossed out.

Missouri started expungements in December final 12 months when it added Modification 3 to the Missouri Structure. Since then, the state stated greater than 22,000 instances are off the books.
