Missouri basketball injury news: Mark Mitchell will not return vs MSU with right knee injury
With approximately 16 minutes remaining in Missouri basketball’s game against Mississippi State, Mizzou forward Mark Mitchell was seen running down the tunnel toward the team’s locker room.
A team spokesperson has since confirmed to the Tribune that Mitchell will not return to the Tigers’ second-round SEC game over the Bulldogs on Thursday at Bridgestone Arena.
With 12:37 left to play in the game, Missouri and MSU were tied at 47.
Mitchell only played 12 total minutes in the contest, scoring seven points. For a majority of the first half, he appeared to be on an exercise bike.
It is unclear whether Mitchell will be able to return for any other SEC games, should Mizzou advance. It was also immediately unclear when the forward picked up the injury. For now, he will not play for the remainder of Thursday’s game.
