Man wanted for Missouri assault found after chase along I-70 in Kansas
LECOMPTON, Kan. (KCTV) – A man wanted for assault in Missouri was taken into custody after a chase with law enforcement officials along I-70 in Kansas.
The Douglas County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Office says that law enforcement officials were called around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, to help the Kansas Highway Patrol end a chase along westbound I-70.
Investigators noted that the suspect vehicle, a red Honda, had been reported stolen. Troopers were able to bump into the vehicle and stop it near the Lecompton Interchange northwest of Lawrence.
The Sheriff’s Office indicated that the driver was found to be wanted for assault out of Missouri. No one else was in the vehicle at the time.
Law enforcement officials said traffic along westbound I-70 was stopped until the driver could be taken into custody. No further information has been released.
