Kansas City, Missouri, Board of Police Commissioners member Don Wagner announces retirement from the board
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There will likely be an open seat on the Kansas Metropolis, Missouri, Board of Commissioners with the retirement of Don Wagner.
Wagner, in a brief assertion Friday, introduced he’ll retire efficient Dec. 31.
He lately voted in favor of hiring Stacey Graves because the division’s new Chief of Police.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve on the Board of Police Commissioners of Kansas Metropolis, Missouri, since November 2017,” Wagner stated in an announcement. “I will likely be retiring efficient December 31, 2022.”
The five-member board, which incorporates KCMO Mayor Quinton Lucas, is the governing physique for the town’s police division.
4 of the 5 members are appointed by the Missouri governor with the consent of the state senate. The Kansas Metropolis mayor serves because the fifth member.
Commissioners serve 4-year phrases.
Former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens appointed Wagner as a board member in 2017.
