KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Starbucks situated at East thirty ninth Road and Arrowhead Avenue in Independence, Missouri, was “shut down” Sunday as a result of an unfair labor practices strike, in accordance with Staff United/SEIU organizer Mari Orrego.

Orrego claims the strike is happening after an worker was fired after an alleged investigation by Starbucks, and that the employee was a “outstanding union organizer within the office.”

The staff will probably be picketing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday on the location at 18710 East thirty ninth St.

KSHB 41 Information has reached out to Starbucks to ask if it could possibly verify an investigation came about, and if it has a touch upon the strike. This story will probably be up to date if a response is acquired.
