Fellow officers, families remember fallen officers in southeast Missouri
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – Regulation enforcement from across the southeast Missouri space got here collectively on Saturday, Could 21 to honor people who gave the last word sacrifice.
Officers and relations attended the Regulation Enforcement Memorial Ceremony in Cape Girardeau to pause and keep in mind greater than 50 officers from the realm which have died within the line-of-duty.

“There isn’t a larger honor than honoring these women and men which have given the last word sacrifice for regulation enforcement for his or her communities and all the things like that,” Missouri Freeway Patrol Lt. Mike Lynch mentioned. “We preserve the respect going for his or her households, we preserve the respect going for the communities they serve. That’s the best factor we will do for them.”
“They’d households, that they had moms, that they had fathers, they’ve brothers, sisters, we’re right here to pay homage to them and to at all times remind them that we are going to always remember the sacrifice that their member of the family made,” Seniors and Lawmen Collectively member Doug Austin mentioned.
The keynote speaker of the occasion was the Missouri Division of Public Security Director Sandy Karsten.
