Kaleb Johnson continues to carry Iowa football’s offense.

On the Hawkeyes’ second drive of their Week 4 game at Minnesota on Saturday, the junior running back put the team on his back by breaking several tackles and bouncing a broken play outside for a 23-yard gain before narrowly stepping out of bounds near the goal line.

But offensive coordinator Tim Lester rewarded his star by calling his number on the very next play, which Johnson took advantage of by getting into the end zone for the game’s first touchdown.

Johnson now has seven rushing TDs this season. Through this game’s first two drives, he rushed five times for 30 yards and a score.
