Gopher OL commit Kaveon Lee discusses Minnesota commitment

On Saturday, the Minnesota Golden Gophers picked up a commitment from Illinois offensive lineman Kaveon Lee. The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle out of Plainfield Central picked the Gophers over Kansas State, Marshall, Memphis, Northern Illinois, and West Virginia among others.

His decision also came just a week following an official visit to Minneapolis. Following his commitment, Gophers Nation caught up with Lee to discuss his why he chose to be a Gopher.

Arizona Cardinals vs Minnesota Vikings Prediction, Odds and Picks

An interesting matchup here in the NFC as the Minnesota Vikings get ready to host the Arizona Cardinals. Both these teams have surpassed expectations in 2024, as the Vikings enter at 9-2 while the Cards are tied for first in the NFC West. Arizona is coming off an ugly loss to the Seahawks, and I think now is a great time to buy low. Right before that loss Arizona had won 5 out of 6, with the only loss in that span coming on the road in Green Bay.

Sure the Vikings have won four in a row, but just look at who they’ve beaten in that stretch. The Bears, Titans, Jaguars and Colts. Not exactly a murderer’s row, and that’s putting it kindly. Right before that stretch against some of the league’s most fledgling teams, they were struggling. The last two times they played functioning teams, they lost back to back games to the Lions and Rams. Los Angeles isn’t anything special, and they beat the Vikings by 10. Sam Darnold was good last week against the Bears but he’s started to show signs of regression after a hot start, and even during this 4-game win streak he still has thrown 5 interceptions. He had 3 against the Jaguars but the team was still able to escape with an ugly 12-7 win because they were playing Mac Jones.

They won’t have any such luxuries here. Even in the win over Chicago last week the Vikings didn’t look particularly impressive, as they blew a huge lead late to an incompetent Bears team, and needed a field goal in overtime to just barely escape. A lot of their recent wins have been thrillers that came down to the wire, so I’m not too confident in their ability to win by more than a field goal here.

Minnesota's Weather Outlook for December, Winter

UNDATED (WJON News) — Minnesota’s temperatures have turned below average over the past week or so. Will the colder-than-normal temperatures persist into December?

The Climate Prediction Center has released its updated outlook for the month.

They say Minnesota can expect about average temperatures in December. Here in St. Cloud, our average high temperature to start the month is 32 degrees. By the end of the month, it is 22 degrees.

The Weather Channel is calling for highs generally to be in the 20s pretty much every day in the first half of the month, so below normal temperatures.

The Climate Prediction Center is also calling for about average precipitation in Minnesota in December. St. Cloud averages about 7.8 inches of snow in December.

As of right now, the Weather Channel isn’t showing any big snow events in the next week or so.

So far this season, St. Cloud has had 4.7 inches of snow. That’s 3.2 inches of snow below normal.

For the winter months of December, January, and February the western half of Minnesota is expected to be colder than normal, and the eastern part of the state is expected to be about average for temperatures.

The Climate Prediction Center says the eastern part of Minnesota is expected to be above normal for precipitation, while the western part of the state will be about average.

St. Cloud averages about 24 inches of snow for the months of December, January and February combined.
