Motorists advised to stay off roads in parts of south central Minnesota

Transportation officials in Minnesota are advising people in the south-central area of the state not to travel on certain roads due to weather conditions.

A press release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) advises people not to travel on several state highways and Interstate 90 in Jackson, Cottonwood, Nobles, Martin and Wantonwan Counties.

The advisory comes amid incoming heavy snow and limited visibility. Stay up to date with the latest weather conditions HERE.

No travel advised means that the roadway has deteriorated and/or visibility has been reduced to the point that it is very dangerous to travel, according to MnDOT.

Additional travel advisories are expected as conditions worsen.
