Minnesota National Guard ‘Red Bulls’ deploying to Middle East
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KEYC) – Members of the State National Guard are preparing to deploy to the Middle East next month.
On Thursday, the Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Infantry Division “Red Bulls” will gather with family and friends for a deployment ceremony.
More than 550 soldiers will be heading overseas, according to the Minnesota National Guard, with 46% leaving on their first deployment.
The deployed soldiers will be providing help in leadership and planning for Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve.
They are expected to return home from the deployment in December.
