Kaprizov, Wild end scoring drought with win over Ducks

One evening after getting ejected for high-sticking Drew Doughty within the face, Kirill Kaprizov erupted with a career-high 9 pictures on purpose – two that went in – to guide the Minnesota Wild to a much-needed 4-1 win over the Anaheim Geese on Wednesday. 

Kaprizov, who averted a suspension for the hit to Doughty’s face, ended Minnesota’s scoreless streak at 159 minutes, 45 seconds when he redirected a shot into the online 13 seconds into an influence play with 3:23 left within the second interval.  

Minnesota went up 2-1 at 1:41 within the third interval on a purpose by Matt Dumba, and Kaprizov’s second of the evening made it 3-1 when the Wild have been on a 5-on-3 energy play lower than two minute later.

Kaprizov is as much as 10 targets in 13 video games this season. That is tied for third within the NHL behind Bo Horvat’s 12 and Connor McDavid’s 14 targets.

Joseph Cramarossa, referred to as up from the Iowa Wild earlier this week, gave the Wild a 4-1 lead with 9:18 left within the third. 

Filip Gustavsson bought his first win with since being traded to the Wild final April. He stopped 31 of 32 pictures, together with 11 when the Geese have been on the facility play.
