4-0 loss sees Twins split doubleheader with Tigers
After scoring eight runs within the first sport of a doubleheader, the Minnesota Twins did not depart something for the nightcap, falling to the Detroit Tigers 4-0 on Tuesday evening.
The Twins could not get something going towards Tigers rookie Joey Wentz, who allowed one hit and struck out 4 batters over 4 innings earlier than exiting with a strained left shoulder.
Whereas Wentz dazzled on the mound, Jonathan Schoop starred on the plate. The previous Twin terrorized Cole Sands, hitting a two-run homer within the first inning and a two-RBI single within the second.
When Wentz left the sport, the Tigers’ bullpen took over, throwing shutout 5 innings to clear the trail to victory.
