Rochester man killed in Minneapolis drive-by shooting

MINNEAPOLIS — A 20-year-old Rochester man died Dec. 6 after he was shot on Dec. 3 in Minneapolis, according to authorities.

Ty’Shawn Maurice Lyons died of a gunshot wound to the head he received during a drive-by shooting on the 2900 block of Grand Avenue South.

Lyons was in a surface parking lot with friends when shots were fired from a passing vehicle, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. No other injuries were reported.

The MPD Homicide division is investigating the incident.
