Police Investigating Fatal Shooting in Minneapolis

Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Minneapolis are investigating a shooting that ended a man’s life early Saturday morning. 

A news release says officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification around 5:30 a.m. 

The notification regarding the shooting came from an ally in the 3500 block of Penn Ave. North. 

Upon arrival officers encountered an unconscious man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police rendered aid to the gunshot victim before being relieved by medical personnel.

The man was taken to North Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. The victim’s name has not been released. 

He is described to be in his 50’s. So far no arrests have been made.

Minneapolis Homicide detectives have begun their investigation into the fatal shooting. The man’s body has been sent to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner for an autopsy and identification.
