Minnesota weather: Breezy through the weekend into Monday

A gusty northwest wind will pick up through midday, which will lead to falling temperatures this afternoon. Temperatures will go from the mid 20s to upper teens for our Saturday.

The sky clears tonight with plenty of sunshine expected on Sunday. A nice warm-up is on the way for the early part of next week with a few places approaching 40 degrees. We trend away from the frigid air in this forecast.

A cold front wi;; bring a few flurries here and there along with falling temperatures this afternoon. Winds will get a little gusty by midday and last through the afternoon. 

The breeze sticks around for Sunday, but there will be a slightly warmer wind direction. We dip down into the single digits tonight and then warm back up into the 20s tomorrow afternoon. 

A few places in southwestern Minnesota will climb close to the freezing mark. Saturday stays fairly overcast, but grab the shades for Sunday as sunshine will be abundant.

Work week outlook

What’s next:

Temperatures continue to climb with a decent breeze again on Monday. Highs for the beginning of this work week will make it above freezing for both Monday and Tuesday with a few reaching near 40 degrees.

A slight cool down is expected for Wednesday (but still above seasonal averages) in comparison to Monday and Tuesday’s forecast. 

Temperatures may stay steady for Wednesday with the potential of above freezing temperatures returning again by Friday. This forecast continues to look dry with any shot of snow staying very light and with only possible flurries to a dusting of snow.
