Minneapolis cold case murder suspect arrested in Fargo

MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – A man who was living in Fargo when he was arrested has been charged in a cold case murder in Minneapolis.
It is believed that Suleiman Ali, 30, left the country after the shooting of a man on Oct. 30 2013, but returned from Somalia two years ago.
Minneapolis police say they were told by a woman in 2022 that Ali admitted to shooting a man in a car. The 26-year-old victim died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Ali was in the backseat. Ali’s DNA profile matched the profile from a torn jacket sleeve recovered at the murder scene.
Ali was arrested on May 1. He remains in the Hennepin County Jail.
