Chenue Her to Join KMSP in Minneapolis as Morning Anchor
Chenue Her will join Fox owned station KMSP Fox 9 as weekday morning anchor.
Starting in October, he’ll co-anchor the 4:30 to 6 a.m. hours of Fox 9 Morning alongside Hannah Flood. In addition, Kelly O’Connell will join Tom Butler for the 6 and 7 a.m. hours.
“We’ve been big Chenue fans from afar for years now, ever since he started next door in Iowa,” said vice president and news director, Kelly Bishop-Huffman. “On the air and behind the scenes, he just has this incredible ‘X-factor.’ We couldn’t be happier that he’s coming home to the Twin Cities and joining our family as well as being back with his.”
Her last worked as morning anchor for WOI-DT in Des Moines, Iowa. Before that, he was a news reporter for 11Alive in Atlanta, Georgia. He’s also worked at WVEC in Norfolk, Virginia and before that, KEZI News in Eugene, Oregon. He began his career with intern positions at KSTP and WCCO in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as well as KCRA 3 News in Sacramento.
“Coming home and joining the Fox 9 team is a full circle moment for me. As a proud Minnesota native and a Hmong son of east St. Paul, it’s the greatest honor of my career to join the most iconic morning newscast in Minnesota made up of journalists I’ve looked up to,” said Her. “As refugees, my parents have been loyal to ‘Fox 9 Morning News’ for a long time to keep them informed daily and now Fox 9 becomes a part of their family’s story forever.”
