President Biden to visit Milwaukee Wednesday
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WMTV) – President Joe Biden will make a stop in Milwaukee Wednesday, March 13th as part of his 2024 presidential campaign tour. Looking to keep momentum up since his State of the Union speech, the visit also comes as a push to visit key swing states.
According to the White House, the president will land at Milwaukee International Airport’s Air National Guard Base at around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. He will then speak at the Pieper-Hillside Boys & Girls Club at around 4:00 p.m. There, Biden is expected to announce funding for projects going to disadvantaged communities. That $3.3 billion dollars he’s touting, is coming from the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law. He is also expected to highlight a project to reconnecting parts of Milwaukee’s 6th Street, with an estimated cost of $36 million.
After that, Biden has a campaign event kicking off at around 5:00 p.m. the location of that event is still unknown.
The president’s journey through the Midwest will also take him to Saginaw, Michigan Thursday. The last time Biden visited Wisconsin was in January of 2024 when he stopped in Superior, WI to visit the the deteriorating John A. Blatnik Memorial Bridge and discuss ways to improve infrastructure between Duluth, MN and Superior.
After visiting Milwaukee and Sagniaw, President Biden’s campaign says he plans to travel to North Carolina and other battleground states for the 2024 presidential election.
