Officer Jerving: Evers orders flags at half-staff for funeral

MILWAUKEE – Gov. Tony Evers on Thursday, Feb. 9 ordered flags to be flown at half-staff subsequent week for the funeral of Peter Jerving, the Milwaukee police officer killed within the line of obligation.

The officer’s funeral is scheduled for Feb. 13 at Elmbrook Church adopted by burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

In a letter, a bunch of 4 Republican lawmakers criticized the governor for not ordering flags lowered sooner – terming his response “inadequate.” State Reps. Barbara Dittrich (R-Oconomowoc) and Bob Donovan (R-Greenfield) had been amongst that group.

Jerving, 37, died after a shootout with 19-year-old theft suspect Terrell Thompson close to 14th and Cleveland early Tuesday morning.
