Donations help Milwaukee youth center spread joy after gifts stolen

The season of giving was in full swing this Christmas Eve.

New Hope Youth and Household Providers introduced youngsters pleasure by handing out presents at a gaggle house after, earlier this week, founders stated burglars broke into their constructing and stole coats, televisions and items meant for youths.

Greater than $9,000 was raised to assist ship a Merry Christmas for the kids whose items had been taken.

“There’s coats for everyone, socks, underwear, hats, gloves, hoodies, jogging pants, reward playing cards, video games – all sort of stuff,” stated Rita Lee, the middle’s founder.

Lee stated Goal, United Means and BMO Harris Financial institution helped with last-minute donations. Some donations got here from as far-off as Massachusetts.
