Michigan State Police trooper seriously injured in head-on collision

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) – Police are reminding individuals to put on their seatbelts after a Michigan State Police car was struck head-on by somebody trying to move a salt truck Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, the crash occurred at about 7:15 a.m. on Dixie Freeway, close to Tripp Highway. Police stated a northbound pickup truck driver tried to move a salt truck, misplaced management, crossed over into southbound lanes and struck the patrol car.

The trooper was transported to Genesys Hospital in Grand Clean for severe accidents. Police stated the at-fault driver was taken to the hospital for minor accidents.

Michigan State Police stated the trooper was launched from the hospital Tuesday afternoon and can be recovering at house for a number of days.
