Michigan State Police to increase patrols over Memorial Day Weekend

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Memorial Day Weekend means quite a lot of visitors on the highways, that’s why Michigan State Police are asking drivers to maintain the roads protected.

MSP Lt. Brian Oleksyk stated Memorial Day Weekend is a busy weekend for division and that’s why they plan on having extra troopers on the highways.

He stated they’re concentrating on aggressive driving, folks not sporting seatbelts and dashing.

Oleksyk stated 12 folks had been killed in collisions in Michigan over Memorial Day Weekend 2020, so he’s asking all drivers to be defensive to keep away from any incidents.

“It is a weekend the place we wish to get our message out for folks to drive protected, be affected person, put on your seatbelt — as a result of it does save lives — and luxuriate in your weekend,” Oleksyk stated.

He added troopers will even be looking out for people who find themselves consuming and driving.
