Thousands of homes without power due to outage near Truman Sports Complex

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – As temperatures dropped well below freezing on Saturday evening, thousands of households received the unwelcome surprise of losing their power.

Evergy reported that as of 7:15 p.m., more than 11,800 homes were without power.

Evergy listed a time of power restoration for 7:30 p.m. for several of the outages. A link to the Evergy Outage map can be found here.

An Evergy spokesperson told KCTV5 that the outage was likely weather-related and that a crew was working on repairs.
