Miracle on Kansas Ave. Parade Marshals announced

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The grand marshal and junior grand marshal have been introduced for Downtown Topeka’s Miracle on Kansas Avenue parade, and the grand marshal is a well-known face within the Washburn College group.

The Downtown Topeka Inc. (DTI) introduced that the now retired Washburn College President Dr. Jerry Farley would be the 2022 grand marshal, and Lorenzo Perez, an eighth grader from Jardine Center Faculty, would be the junior grand marshal.

Farley retired from Washburn College in September after serving a complete of 25 years with the College, the truth is, he turned Washburn’s longest-serving president.

“Everybody loves a parade, significantly the Miracle on Kansas Avenue,” Farley stated. “We wish everybody to hitch us — kids, households, these collaborating within the parade, marching bands, and maybe a jovial individual wearing crimson. As for Perez, DTI says that he’s extremely energetic in class.
